Pay It Furward: A Referral Pilot Program Built On Care, Compassion, and Community

At Scribenote, our mission has always been simple: to protect and cherish the human-animal bond. Every feature we build, every decision we make, and every conversation we have with veterinary teams comes back to that core belief.

As we roll out several meaningful updates in early 2026, we’re excited to share the first: Pay It Furward, Scribenote’s new referral pilot program - an initiative designed to put that mission into action in a very tangible way.

What Is Pay It Furward?

Pay It Furward is our referral pilot program designed to give back to the VetMed community.

Here's how it works:

Why We Created This Pilot

If you work in veterinary medicine, this reality needs no explanation. Financial constraints too often determine outcomes for patients.

As Scribenote’s Veterinary Lead and Co-Founder, Dr. Katie Gallagher, puts it:

“At times, it feels like more than half the appointments I see in a day have cost concerns. (…) In serious cases, this could mean the difference between recovery and euthanasia.”

These moments are emotionally exhausting for veterinary teams and heartbreaking for pet families. They require constant recalculation: adjusting treatment plans, reworking estimates, and navigating the spectrum of care to balance what’s medically ideal with what’s financially possible.

How Pay It Furward Can Help in the Moments That Matter

Programs like Pay It Furward don’t solve access to care on their own - but they can help in moments where even a small amount of support makes a meaningful difference.

That support might mean:

Pay It Furward is our first experiment in how Scribenote can show up in those moments, supporting veterinary teams as they work to find the best path forward for patients and the families who love them.
